American Wars
As America is now currently at war, lets take a look back at previous wars and the present war that we've engaged in. |

French and Indian War 1754-1763
This was one of the first wars America was involved with. As we all know wars are fought to win something of value, like Natural Resources, Freedom, or even Land. Well in this war land what was a stake for America, and the rest of the growing world as well.
American Revolution 1775-1783
This war was fought between the British and the United States to basically test Americas will to become a free nation.
Undeclared War with France 1798-1800
This was a war that we basically got involved with because President John Adams wasn't making the French to happy with his descisions in office.
War Of 1812 1812-1815
This was another war, where America was fighting the British, and the whole thing turned out ugly from the Atlantic Coast to the Gulf Coast.
The Mexican War 1846-1848
This was a war with Mexico, where we fought them for some land in the South West Corner. America ended up picking up some land in the Gadsden Purchase deal, which took place in 1853.
The American Civil War 1861-1865
This was one of the bigger wars in American History. It was one of those wars that was bound to happen sooner or later, just because the tense between the two halfs of the nation was getting hot. This war and time period is a favorite to talk about by historians. (For more information look at my fifth webpage).
The Spanish American War 1898
This is a war America got involved with before we got involved with World War One. In this war we lost a trmendus amount of men, but we gained Cuba, which turned out to be a big plus for us.
World War I 1914-1918
This was a War that started out due to an assassination. It started out to be a war with Autria-Hungary against Serbia (Russia), but this war turned out to be much more with countries such as Britan, Japan, Germany, Italy, the United States, the Ottoman Empire, and many more. World War II 1939-1945
This war all started because of Adolf Hitler and the way he treated Jews by putting them into concentration camps. Mnay countries joined the war effort to stop this madness, and to keep the Nazis from going to rule the rest of the earth. (For more information look at my seventh webpage).
The Korean War 1950-1953
This was a war that America went up and raged against the Koreans on the East Coast of Asia.
War of Vietnam 1960-1972
America enter this war with alot of high hopes but it turned out to be everything but. This war lasted us reasonably 12 years, and we lost so many men that there is now a wall in Washington DC that commemorates the Veterans that fought in this war for America.
Gulf War 1990-1991
This war was basically fought on the basis of Natural Resources. America was in this War for about 6 months, and then we proved our point.
War on Terrorism 2001
This is a war that was declared by the United States to stop terrorism from happening, after it happened on our own grounds on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, in 1993 at the World Trade Center, and on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania.
